2019 Mazda CX-5 Earns Top Safety Honors

Savvy drivers know that when it comes to a great family car, Mazda cars are always a great choice. With convenient driver assist features, the versatility for carpools and errands, and a great price point, it’s hard to go wrong. And when it comes to the 2019 Mazda CX-5, there’s another important reason the model is great for families – it has the highest possible safety designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The non-profit institution only awards the “Top Safety Pick+” designation to a select few models that earn the highest scores on safety tests. In order to qualify, a model must achieve the top rating of “good” on each of six crash tests and headlights, and an “Advanced” or ‘Superior” rating when it comes to front crash prevention. From a small overlap front crash test to its effective LED lights, the 2019 Mazda CX-5 demonstrated Mazda automakers’ devotion to safety.

That devotion shows through in other models as well – the 2019 Mazda CX-3 and the 2019 Mazda CX-9 have also been honored by IIHS. As President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations, Masahiro Moro, explained “Our Mazda Proactive Safety Philosophy guides us to develop cars and crossover SUVs that are both nimble and responsive to help a driver avoid incidents altogether.”

Here at Hiley Mazda of Arlington, that’s the attitude we want from automakers designing cars our children will ride in. And that’s why we’re so proud to be bringing practical, comfortable, and safe models to local drivers. Visit today to find out more about the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ model the 2019 Mazda CX-5.
